This fiery, antique Santan keris dates from the Mataram Amangkurat I-era (17th century).
The excellent condition of the old wilah is evidence that a master Empu forged this keris. I had the wilah ritually and professionally washed in Indonesia, so that the complex, silver-gray pamor motif Ngulit Semangka contrasts beautifully against the black background of the keris.
