This antique and spiritually, magically powerful Trisula dates from the Madura abad XVIII (Late 18th century).
 
I acquired this rare Trisula form a befriended Indonesian collector from Cirebon. Hiet collection consists of ancient and rare weapons from the Indonesian Archipelago.
 
A Trisula consists of three individual blades. The middle blade is longer than the two outer blades. The base of the trisula is adorned with a padma flower decoration in Kinatah (gold)
 
The Trisula symbolism is polyvalent and rich. It is wielded by the god Shiva and is said to have been used to sever the original head of Ganesha. Durga also holds aTrisula, as one of her many weapons. The three points have various meanings and significance, and, common to Hinduism, have many stories behind them. They are commonly said to represent various trinities: creation, preservation, and destruction; past, present, and future; body, mind and atman; dharma or dhamma (law and order), bliss/mutual enjoyment and emanation/created bodies; compassion, joy and love; spiritual, psychic and relative; happiness, comfort and boredom; pride, repute and egotism; clarity, knowledge and wisdom; heaven, mind and earth; soul, fire and earth; soul, passion and embodied-soul; logic, passion and faith; prayer, manifestation and sublime; insight, serenity and bodhisattvahood or arhatship (anti-conceit); practice, understanding and wisdom; death, ascension and resurrection; creation, order and destruction; the three gunas: satva, rajas and tamas.
 
The Trisula is forged with pamor Ilining Warih. Pamor lines run along the length of the blades, starting at the base and continuing to the tip of the Wilah (blade). Some of the pamor lines are intact, others are broken or branched. Ilining Warih means "steaming water" in Javanese. The pamor lines of this pamor-motif rotate or wave along the length of the Wilah and symbolize flowing water. Water is a symbol of life. The nature of water adapts to the environment around it and can flow where there is space. This pamor has magical powers that will bring new situations and possibilities to its owners in difficult times in his life. Like the philosophy of water that always flows to find its own way from the mountain to the ocean. Ilining Warih also has powers that make it easy for the owner of the keris to adapt to changing circumstances that will make his career or business flourish and make him successful in life. This pamor is much sought after because it brings its owner good luck.

Deze antieke en spiritueel, magisch krachtige Trisula dateert uit de Madura abad XVIII (eind 18e eeuw).
 
Deze zeldzame Trisula heb ik mogen overnemen van een bevriende Indonesische verzamelaar uit Cirebon. Zijn indrukwekkende collectie bestaat uit oude en zeldzame wapens uit de Indische Archipel.
 
Een Trisula bestaat uit drie afzonderlijke wilah’s (klingen). De middelste kling is langer dan de twee buitenste klingen. De basis van de trisula is versierd met een padma bloem in Kinatah (goud)
 
De Trisula-symboliek is polyvalent en rijk. Het wordt gehanteerd door de god Shiva en zou zijn gebruikt om het oorspronkelijke hoofd van Ganesha af te snijden. Durga heeft ook een Trisula, als een van haar vele wapens. De drie punten hebben verschillende betekenissen en betekenis, en gaan, net als het hindoeïsme, gepaard met vele verhalen. Er wordt algemeen gezegd dat ze verschillende drie-eenheden vertegenwoordigen: creatie, behoud en vernietiging; verleden, heden en toekomst; lichaam, geest en atman; dharma of dhamma (wet en orde), gelukzaligheid/wederzijds genot en emanatie/geschapen lichamen; mededogen, vreugde en liefde; spiritueel, psychisch en relatief; geluk, comfort en verveling; trots, reputatie en egoïsme; duidelijkheid, kennis en wijsheid; hemel, geest en aarde; ziel, vuur en aarde; ziel, passie en belichaamde ziel; logica, passie en geloof; gebed, manifestatie en subliem; inzicht, sereniteit en bodhisattvaschap of arhatschap (anti-verwaandheid); praktijk, begrip en wijsheid; dood, hemelvaart en wederopstanding; creatie, orde en vernietiging; de drie guna’s: satva, rajas en tamas.
 
De Trisula is gesmeed met pamor Ilining Warih. Pamorlijnen lopen over de lengte van de bladen, beginnend bij de basis en doorlopend tot aan de punt van de Wilah (blad). Sommige pamorlijnen zijn intact, andere zijn gebroken of vertakt. Ilining Warih betekent ‘stomend water’ in het Javaans. De pamorlijnen van dit pamormotief roteren of golven langs de lengte van de Wilah en symboliseren stromend water. Water is een symbool van leven. De aard van water past zich aan de omgeving eromheen aan en kan stromen waar ruimte is. Deze pamor heeft magische krachten die de eigenaren in moeilijke tijden in zijn leven nieuwe situaties en mogelijkheden zullen bieden. Zoals de filosofie van water dat altijd stroomt om zijn eigen weg te vinden van de berg naar de oceaan. Ilining Warih beschikt ook over krachten die het voor de eigenaar van de keris gemakkelijk maken om zich aan te passen aan veranderende omstandigheden die zijn carrière of bedrijf zullen laten bloeien en hem succesvol zullen maken in het leven. Deze pamor is zeer gewild omdat hij de eigenaar geluk brengt.
