This antique Sepang keris dates from the Mataram Sultan Agung era (17th century).
The old wilah is a rare appearance. It is forged with the rare Sepang dapur (shape). A Sepang keris is one of the shapes of a lurus (straight) keris dhapur, the length of the wilah is medium and is relatively thin. Characteristic of a Sepang keris is that a gandhik is missing and the shape of the sor-soran is almost symmetrical, without pejetan. In addition, the ganja, a ganja wilut (waved ganja). Twins on the right and left illustrate the principle of living in peace, harmony and balance, both horizontally in the context of human relationships, and vertically in the context of the relationship between people and the supernatural. So it is a double symbolism or a single loro-loroning. Sepang is a symbol of "one singleness" (Roso), when unity is achieved, fertility and fortune will be complete (never run out). If the relationship between the two can be harmonious, then husband and wife will arrive at the ultimate goal of nine-nine grandfathers, "pege-deer-e-life-mukti". A Sepang keris possesses spiritual powers that help promote harmony in marriage. If desired, a Sepang keris can help couples have children.
In addition, the wilah is forged with an old variant of pamor Uler Lulut. I had the wilah treated with warangan in Indonesia, which made the silver pamor contrasts beautifully against the black background of the wilah. The pamor motif Uler Lulut has a pattern of pamor spheres that are connected to each other and look like the body of a snake. This pamor resembles the nature of water because its flow is related to cumulative wealth and prosperity. Uler Lulut means 'tame snake' in Indonesian. Deze antieke Sepang keris dateert van de Mataram Sultan Agung-era (17de eeuw).
De oude wilah is een zeldzame verschijning. Het is gesmeed met het zeldzame Sepang dapur (vorm). Een Sepang keris is een van de vormen van een lurus (rechte) keris dhapur, de lengte van de wilah is gemiddeld en is relatief dun. Kenmerkend voor een Sepang keris is dat een gandhik ontbreekt en de vorm van de sor-soran is bijna symmetrischis, zonder pejetan. Daarnaast is de ganja, een ganja wilut (gegolfde ganja). Een tweeling rechts en links illustreert het principe van leven in vrede, harmonie en balans, zowel horizontaal in de context van menselijke relaties, als verticaal in de context van de relatie tussen mensen en het bovennatuurlijke. Het is dus een dubbele symboliek of een enkele loro-loroning. Sepang is een symbool van "één singleness" (Roso), wanneer eenheid is bereikt, zullen vruchtbaarheid en fortuin compleet zijn (nooit opraken). Wanneer de relatie tussen de twee harmonieus kan verlopen, dan zullen man en vrouw uitkomen bij het uiteindelijke doel van negen-negen grootvaders, "pege-deer-e-life-mukti". Een Sepang keris bezit spirituele krachten die harmonie in het huwelijk helpt te bevorderen. Desgewenst kan een Sepang keris echtparen helpen om kinderen te krijgen.
Daarnaast is de wilah gesmeed met een oude variant van pamor Uler Lulut. Ik heb de wilah in Indonesie laten behandelen met warangan waardoor het zilveren pamor prachtig afsteekt tegen de zwarte achtergrond van de wilah. Het pamormotief Uler Lulut heeft een patroon van pamor sferen die met elkaar verbonden zijn en die eruitzien als het lichaam van een slang. Dit pamor lijkt op de aard van water, omdat de stroming ervan verband houdt met cumulatieve rijkdom en welvaart. Uler Lulut betekent in het Indonesisch ‘tamme slang’. Het bezit magische krachten die de eigenaar van de keris goed geluk zal brengen in de zin dat het makkelijk voor hem zal worden om inkomsten te genereren. Daarnaast maakt het de eigenaar flexibel in het aangaan en onderhouden van zowel relationele als zakelijke relaties. Hierdoor zal de eigenaar op veel vrienden kunnen rekenen. Op zakelijk- of werkgebied zal de eigenaar van de keris zeer geliefd worden bij collega’s, zijn meerdere of zijn zakelijke relaties.
De keris huist in een Yogyakarta Gayaman warangka van het edele Cendana hout. Een passende Yogyakarta Nunggak-semi greep prijkt aan de bovenzijde van de keris.
