The name pedang is a collective name for sabers and swords of different origins in different Indonesian regions. Depending on the origin, a pedang can be provided with a klinge of European, Turkish, Arabic or Anglo-Indian origin.
 
This rare Pedang Paut Nyere comes from Cirebon, West Java. The Pedang dates back to the Cirebon abad XVIII era (18th century).
 
The wilah is forged with 2 pamors; pamor Batu Lapak at the base and pamor Ilining Warih in the length. I had the wilah ritually and professionally treated in Indonesia with warangan, which makes the pamor sparkle like never before.
In addition, the Wilah is forged according to Pedang Lamen dapur.
 
Pamor lines run along the length of the wilah, starting at the base of the Wilah (klinge) and continuing to the tip of the Wilah (klinge). Some of the pamor lines are intact, others are broken or branched. Ilining Warih means "steaming water" in Javanese. The pamor lines of this pamormotive rotate or wave along the length of the Wilah and symbolize flowing water. Water is a symbol of life. The nature of water adapts to the environment around it and can flow where there is space.

The top of the pedang is adorned with a beautifully carved, antique Naga Liman hilt that is carved in the shape of a stylized wayang figure. The hilt is placed on a silver quillon.
 
The Pedang is housed in the authentic, matching Mega Mendung sheath with intricate wood carvings on the front of the sheath.

Antieke en zeldzame Cirebon Pedang Paut Nyere – Cirebon abad XVIII tijdperk (18e eeuw) – Wilah met helder pamor Batu Lapak en Ilining Warih – Prachtig gesneden Naga Liman greep – Zilveren quillon – Bijpassende Mega Mendung schede met ingewikkelde gravures aan de voorkant.
 
De naam pedang is een verzamelnaam voor sabels en zwaarden van verschillende herkomst in verschillende Indonesische streken. Afhankelijk van de herkomst kan een pedang voorzien worden van een kling van Europese, Turkse, Arabische of Anglo-Indische afkomst.
 
Deze zeldzame Pedang Paut Nyere komt uit Cirebon, West-Java. De Pedang dateert uit het Cirebon abad XVIII-tijdperk (18e eeuw).
 
De kling is gesmeed met 2 pamors; pamor Batu Lapak op de basis en pamor Ilining Warih in de lengte van de wilah. De kling heb ik in Indonesië ritueel en professioneel laten behandelen met warangan, waardoor de pamor schittert als nooit tevoren.
 
Daarnaast is de kling gesmeed volgens Pedang Lamen dapur.
 
Pamorlijnen lopen over de lengte van de wilah, beginnend bij de basis van de Wilah (kling) en doorlopend tot aan de punt van de Wilah (kling). Sommige pamorlijnen zijn intact, andere zijn gebroken of vertakt. Ilining Warih betekent ‘stomend water’ in het Javaans. De pamorlijnen van dit pamormotief draaien of golven langs de lengte van de Wilah en symboliseren stromend water. Water is een symbool van leven. De aard van water past zich aan de omgeving eromheen aan en kan stromen waar ruimte is.
 
Deze pamor heeft magische krachten die de eigenaren in moeilijke tijden in zijn leven nieuwe situaties en mogelijkheden zullen bieden. Aan de bovenzijde prijkt een prachtig uitgesneden, antieke Naga Liman greep dat is uitgesneden in de vorm van een gestileerde Naga Liman. De greep is op een zilveren quillon geplaatst.
